Midweek Searchers operates across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Sussex and Surrey under the NCMD Code of Conduct, in active support of the Portable Antiquities Scheme. Our focus is history, recording, and long-standing relationships with the landowners and estates who host us.

Every member follows the NCMD Code of Conduct and reports significant finds through the Portable Antiquities Scheme. We dig with care, refill every hole, and leave each field as we found it, only richer in story.

Featured Find · Whaddon, Wiltshire
A gold mourning ring for the clerk of Samuel Pepys.
An ornate band of gold, unearthed in an arable field in 2021, carrying a faint inscription and traces of black niello. Recorded through the Portable Antiquities Scheme, it was dated to 1715 and found to commemorate William Hewer — MP for Yarmouth, and clerk to Samuel Pepys.

For Landowners & Farmers
A partnership rooted in trust.
We are NCMD-affiliated and fully insured, work to a clear search agreement (verbal or written), and handle significant or valuable finds transparently with the landowner under the Treasure Act process where applicable.
