Wide English farmland with stubble fields, hedgerows and a village spire on the horizon

Foundation

Responsible detecting,
always.

Every member follows the NCMD Code of Conduct and reports significant finds through the Portable Antiquities Scheme. We dig with care, refill every hole, and leave each field as we found it, only richer in story.

NCMD & PAS

Our Principles

Three commitments that shape every dig.

01Principle

History & Heritage

We treat every find as a fragment of a larger story, recorded, respected, and shared with those who care for it.

02Principle

Responsibility

Permission first. Landowners trust us because we honour every agreement, respect their land and leave their fields as we find them.

03Principle

Community

We are a club open to new members, welcoming detectorists old and new; helping beginners through sharing our experience and love of this hobby.
