Metal detecting has grown significantly in popularity since the early 2000s, helped by programmes such as Time Team and Detectorists.  As interest has increased, access to land has become more competitive, which is where well run clubs like MWS play a vital role.

Membership & Digs

• Membership is free
• Digs cost £25 per detectorist
• Under 16s detect free of charge
• New members complete a three-dig probation before joining our private Facebook group
• Land size matched to numbers to avoid crowding

We primarily organise digs and share finds via Facebook, which allows members to follow discoveries in real time and stay connected between events.
